Enhancing Business Courses with Immersive Simulations
By Tatyana Pashnyak
Abstract
In an era of rapidly evolving educational demands, immersive simulations have emerged as a transformative tool for enhancing business education. This article examines how interactive, scenario-based simulations can bridge the gap between theory and real-world business practice, fostering critical thinking, decision-making, and problem-solving skills in students. Drawing on research and case examples, the article dispels common myths about simulations and highlights their positive impact on student engagement, knowledge retention, and development of soft skills such as leadership and teamwork. Practical implementation strategies are offered for both K–12 and higher education settings, including technology selection, instructional design, funding considerations, and professional development. By integrating immersive simulations into business curricula, educators can prepare students more effectively for the complexities of today’s global economy while promoting deeper, more meaningful learning experiences.
