Leveraging LinkedIn Learning as An Alternative Instructional Delivery Method
By Dr. Carol Blaszczynski
Abstract
This article explores the integration of LinkedIn Learning (LIL) as an alternative instructional delivery method in higher education business courses, with a specific focus on a senior-level management skills course. The study highlights the pedagogical framework used—ALAPA (Assessment, Learning, Analysis, Practice, and Application)—to build competencies in soft skills such as listening, conflict resolution, and negotiation. Benefits of using LIL include high-quality video instruction, accessibility features, and the motivational impact of earning completion certificates. Student survey data indicate strong perceived effectiveness and value in using LIL for skill development and self-awareness. The article concludes that LIL can support instructional efficiency and deepen student engagement when paired with reflective practices and intentional instructional design.
